Description
There’s nothing like a healthy version of a crunchy seasoned french fry. These Sweet Potato Fries make an easy and delicious gluten-free side. The Jalapeno Secret Sauce featured in this recipe is flavorful and guaranteed to excite your taste buds!
Ingredients
Jalapeño Secret Sauce:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt
- Jalapeño, finely chopped (1/4 teaspoon – 1 teaspoon, depending on heat of pepper; can substitute with 1/4
- teaspoon cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce)
Sweet Potato Steak Fries:
- extra virgin olive oil spray (to grease pan)
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper OR 1/2 teaspoon Simply Organic, Spice Right Pepper and More Blend
- 1 pinch Himalayan pink salt
Instructions
Jalapeño Secret Sauce:
- Combine ingredients in a small bowl. Mix together and set aside.
Fries:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees and grease baking sheet with EVOO spray.
- Slice the ends of sweet potatoes off, then cut in half lengthwise (hot dog style). Cut strips again into smaller strips, about 1/2-inch wide.
- In a large bowl, toss sliced sweet potatoes in EVOO, Spice Right blend and a pinch of salt. (We typically use our hands to massage the oil and seasoning into the potato slices.)
- Place sweet potatoes on baking sheet in a single, even layer, leaving space around each fry. Use two baking sheets if necessary. Roast in oven for 15 minutes. Flip the sweet potatoes and continue to roast for an additional 10-15 minutes. Sweet potatoes should be tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.
- Depending on your desired level of crispiness, you can broil fries for 2 minutes on high. Remove from oven and enjoy warm fries with secret sauce!
- Fries will stay good in the fridge for about 5 days.
