
Easy Overnight French Toast Bake
Description
This super delicious Overnight French Toast Bake takes breakfast to a whole new level. It’s simple to make, beyond delicious and is the perfect warmup throughout the week. It’s made from pieces of bread layered on top of a sugary apple mixture, covered in egg and topped with cinnamon, then baked to perfection. Over the years, it’s by far become one of our most popular breakfasts.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 3 large apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 6 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 & 3/4 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
4-24 hours before baking:
- Slice French bread into slices, 1-inch thick and set aside.
- In a large bowl combine apple slices, raisins, sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and melted butter. Toss to coat apples. Spread apple mixture evenly over bottom of a 12×8 nonstick baking dish.
- Arrange sliced bread tightly on top of apples.
- In a medium bowl mix eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour egg mixture over bread, soaking bread completely. Sprinkle additional cinnamon over bread (to lightly coat). Cover and refrigerate 4-24 hours.
Baking:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake covered with foil for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
