Burgers:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. (These can also be cooked on a grill.)
  2. Combine turkey burger ingredients in a medium bowl.
  3. Divide and shape burger mixture into 4 (4-inch) patties. Arrange patties on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake 5-9 minutes on each side, until burgers are golden brown and cooked through. (Internal temperature should reach 165 degrees F.) Top each burger with a slice of cheddar cheese approximately 1 minute before done.
  5. While burgers are cooking, add evoo to a medium-large pan. Over medium heat, pan sear each side of apple slices (approximately 2 minutes per side).
  6. Remove burgers from oven and plate each burger on a bun. For a low-carb option, use half a bun and enjoy it as an open-faced sammy.
  7. Top burgers with apple and BBQ sauce.
  8. Enjoy!
Freezer-friendly options:
  1. Cooked patties: Remove cookies patties from heat prior to adding cheese. Allow to cool completely and freeze in an airtight container for a quick and easy dinner in the future.
  2. Freezing raw patties: Wrap raw patties in parchment paper and freeze in an airtight container.
