Copycat Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty

Kids or adults alike can agree that there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned chocolate frosty.

Because we try to stick to healthier versions of our family favorites, made with real food ingredients, we couldn’t resist recreating this childhood favorite. This vegan, gluten-free and paleo version of a Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty is made with just a few simple ingredients and is decidedly delicious.

Prep ahead

We’re always looking for ways to reduce time in the kitchen and simplify healthy eating, especially during busy mornings throughout the week. These make-ahead smoothie packs are an easy way to prep smoothies in advance. You’ll save time and take the guesswork out of what to put into the blender during hectic mornings throughout the week.

Helpful tips when making this frosty:

  • Cut and freeze your banana in thirds so your blender doesn’t have to work quite as hard to reach that smooth consistency of a traditional frosty.
  • This recipe makes a frosty with that classic, slightly melted consistency (a bit thinner than a milkshake). If you prefer a thicker frosty, use slightly less almond milk. You may have to stop a few times to scoop the mixture off the bottom and sides of the blender to blend evenly.
  • A high-powered blender is a MUST. For any smoothie, frosty, milkshake or blended drink, a regular blender doesn’t match the smooth, creamy consistency of a high-powered one. Our personal favorite is the NutriBullet Pro High-Speed Blender. We’ve been using this blender for years and have had fantastic results!
